Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the data come from?

Everything is built from the official public record: recorded instruments at the Williams County courthouse (deeds, mineral deeds, probates, leases, assignments) and public state well and spacing-unit records. Every answer traces back to a recorded document you can view in the app.

Is this a title opinion?

No. Mineral Truth is a research tool that organizes the public record and assembles it into searchable ownership views. It does not replace a title opinion from a licensed attorney or an examination by a professional landman — it makes their work (and yours) dramatically faster by putting the record one click away.

How current is the data?

The document index is refreshed on an ongoing basis as new instruments are recorded and processed. Each section's results show how many documents are indexed for it, and every figure is dated by the underlying instrument.

What areas do you cover?

Williams County, North Dakota today — the heart of the Williston Basin — with more Bakken counties on the way.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Subscriptions are month-to-month (or annual if you choose), managed through Stripe, and you can cancel from your account page at any time — access continues through the end of the period you've paid for.
